The eagerly-awaited Mobile Number Portability(MNP) finally became
a reality for over four million
mobile users in Jammu and Kashmir, empowering them to change mobile operators
conveniently while retaining the same number.
The Department of Telecommunication (DoT) has
asked all the six telecom service providers including BSNL, Airtel,
Aircel, Idea Cellular, Vodafone and Tata Indicom in Jammu and
Kashmir to provide MNP service to mobile users.
